hi i'm desi and this is my little blog

so, one of my friends, kate cremisino, writes for relevant mag and interviewed me and wrote up a piece on my life in denver as an inner city missionary/organic church planter and coach. ain’t she nice? click on the title to be magically taken to the article over the interwebs.

The article is entitled “House of Worship: finding spirituality at home” by Lisa Miller.

a few highlights:

  • supposedly 7 percent of U.S. population worship in homes (Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life)
  • questions but no answers as to what constitutes a church
  • it’s thought house churchers “mistrust authority and institutional hierarchy.”
  • such worship is growing among progressive roman catholics as well (see: intentionaleucharisticcommunities.org)
  • Harvard prof and political scientist Robert Putnam, author of “Bowling Alone” is currently working on a book entitled “American Grace” which focuses on the growing number of religiously unaffiliated  often called the “nones”

you can check out the whole article by clicking on the title above.

I was interviewed for a documentary on organic church ( or simple or house church) a while back by a team of simple church leaders in las vegas who are a part of the four square denomination.

what are your thoughts about the content of the video?

comments, critiques, push backs or whatever you’d like to share would be appreciated.

this is probably the biggest thing we are missing at our house church: high quality special songs;).
