so, one of my friends, kate cremisino, writes for relevant mag and interviewed me and wrote up a piece on my life in denver as an inner city missionary/organic church planter and coach. ain’t she nice? click on the title to be magically taken to the article over the interwebs.
The article is entitled “House of Worship: finding spirituality at home” by Lisa Miller.
a few highlights:
- supposedly 7 percent of U.S. population worship in homes (Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life)
- questions but no answers as to what constitutes a church
- it’s thought house churchers “mistrust authority and institutional hierarchy.”
- such worship is growing among progressive roman catholics as well (see: intentionaleucharisticcommunities.org)
- Harvard prof and political scientist Robert Putnam, author of “Bowling Alone” is currently working on a book entitled “American Grace” which focuses on the growing number of religiously unaffiliated often called the “nones”
you can check out the whole article by clicking on the title above.
I was interviewed for a documentary on organic church ( or simple or house church) a while back by a team of simple church leaders in las vegas who are a part of the four square denomination.
